OXFORD SOFTWARE ENGINEERING
Software Engineering Services & Consultancy

 Events

This page is now slightly misnamed now – our ‘events’ were our public seminars and courses. We haven’t done any for a while. For software engineering events and meetings of interest its best to look at our ‘What’s new?’ page. As for our courses see below…

We occasionally schedule public training courses, however none are scheduled at present - pressure of work - but if you would like us to organize an event or deliver a course for your organization do please contact us.

Our most popular courses are:

Rapid Process Improvement:

This workshop introduces and describes the most effective tools and techniques for performance improvement. These tools deliver significant results in the reduced time-scales of rapidly changing business environments.  Based on first hand experience this intensely practical workshop provides valuable insights into contemporary software development and support activities and surveys current SPI trends. You will:

·         learn of the three different types of tools required for controlled performance improvements;

·         find out how to use thirty two practical tools and techniques;

·         discover a high value starter toolset for performance improvement;

 to enable you  to deliver effective and professional  performance improvement in your organization

Introduction to the Capability Maturity Model:

This course views the CMM as a practical tool for understanding and improving software development and management practices. It covers the same ground as the SEI's own 'Introduction to the CMM' but has been extended to place the CMM in context, describing its origins, original uses and the assumptions of its original users. The course describes how the CMM can be adapted for use in diverse software environments and includes broad ranging, practical material on the effective strategies and tactics for software process improvement.

 Introduction to the Capability Maturity Model Integration:

This workshop is based on our experience of process improvement and experience of the CMM and our growing understanding of getting the best out of the CMMI. As for our CMM course it is based on the view that the CMMI is a practical tool for understanding and improving business processes and practices.

Tailored CMMI & CMM Courses:

The Introductory CMMI and CMM courses cover all the maturity levels and process areas. Some organizations prefer to address particular aspects of the models, or their own processes with respect to the model. To meet this need we can deliver tailored courses that focus on particular aspects of the models or on specific organizational objectives.

Our other software engineering courses are identified in the OSEL brochure – call us for details.
